Rats are a fact of life for New Yorkers, one most of us might prefer to ignore. They can be pestilent, vicious vermin, true, but here you’ll learn that rats can also be a boy’s best friend (Willard), aspiring Michelin star chefs (Ratatouille), and valorous freedom fighters (The Secret of NIMH), so don’t get uptight when you see one of these little guys hauling a slice of pizza across the subway platform. The city’s big enough for all of us.
