With a career that spans decades, John Goodman is an actor whose presence always bolsters a movie. He’s the rare performer who manages to create iconic TV characters but can still inhabit personalities in films that, though clearly uniquely him, feel like well drawn people.

On the occasion of the anniversaries of two of his most beloved roles (Lawrence Woolsey in MATINEE [1993] and Walter Sobchak in THE BIG LEBOWSKI [1998]), we present a selection of some of his best.
