It might not be hard to imagine our dear city as a barely inhabitable place. Cinematically, playing with a decaying New York has proven to be fertile ground. Be it costumed gangs traversing the boroughs, or aliens wreaking havoc on iconic structures, we seem to enjoy these representations of destruction and imaginings of what a future Big Apple might look like.
