WHIT STILLMAN PRESENTS

Series Site

On the occasion of the US launch of the new Fireflies Press publication Whit Stillman: Not so long ago, the American writer-director Whit Stillman graces Metrograph theater, presenting Barcelona, the beloved second installment in his trilogy of sophisticated satires detailing the lives of beautiful, young, affluent city-dwellers—here, adrift in Spain—as well as Alfred Hitchcock’s little-screened British romantic crime thriller Young and Innocent (1937).

Whit Stillman: Not so long ago features a new, career-spanning interview, archival documents, a selection of Stillman’s own personal writings on cinema, and essays from critics, filmmakers and scholars including Serge Bozon, Haden Guest, Beatrice Loayza, and Nick Pinkerton.

Join Stillman on Sunday, September 10 for a Q&A with Nick Pinkerton after Barcelona, followed by a brief reception in the Metrograph Lobby Bar from 4pm, before Stillman introduces Young and Innocent.
