Monday, the Balboa has an Odyssey Film Institute presentation of a rare 35mm screening of David Lynch's Inland Empire as well as Martin Scorsese's Casino, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Se7en are at the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission, The Lavender Hill Mob is at the Lark, the Roxie has one more screening of All We Imagine as Light as well as Oscar nominees Vermiglio and From Ground Zero, and the Grand Lake is showing Wizard of Oz and Casablanca (both repeating through Thursday in the main auditorium).

Tuesday, Attack the Block (on 35mm) is at the Drafthouse, The Taste of Mango, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and In the Mood for Love at the Roxie, Dawn of the Dead is at the Balboa, Purple Rain is at the New Parkway.

Wednesday, Bob Dylan's Masked & Anonymous (on 35mm) and Coming to America are at the Drafthouse, Sergei Loznitsa continues his residency at BAMPFA, presenting his early short film Factory (on 35mm) followed by a lecture, Sergei Parajnov's Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors is at the Roxie, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders at the Balboa, The Game at the Vogue, and The Hudsucker Proxy at the 4 Star.

Thursday, Pariah continues Jenni Olson's Masc II series, SF Indie Fest kicks off at the Roxie with Alex Ross Perry's new doc Pavements and continues through next weekend, with many local filmmakers presenting their work in person, the Mostly British Film Festival kicks off a the Vogue and continues through next Thursday, Oscar Michaux's silent classic Within Our Gates is at the Balboa, Drunken Film Festival presents Hoop Dreams, our feature this week, at the 4 Star, the Stanford's Capra series continues with Platinum Blonde and American Madness (both on 35mm, repeating Friday), the Rialtos Cerrito and Elmwood have a free matinee of Casablanca, Candyman (1992) is at the Drafthouse, Queen: Live at Wembley Stadium at the New Parkway, The Girl with the Needle at the Roxie, and Shapeshifters Cinema has a benefit night of expanded cinema performances with live music.

Friday, the Grand Lake begins a David Lynch tribute with a double feature of Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart (repeating Saturday), Loznitsa presents In the Fog in person and McCabe & Mrs. Miller continues Leila Weefur's revisionist westerns series at BAMPFA, The Golden Child is at the Drafthouse, The Last Dragon and Blacula at the Balboa, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (repeating Sunday) at the 4 Star.

Saturday, Shapeshifters presents Duel In the Screen: Westerns Re-edited, a Spike Lee triple feature of Crooklyn, BlacKkKlansman, and Da 5 Bloods is at the Balboa, About Time (2013) at the Drafthouse, moth doc Nocturnes (alongside Stan Brakhage's essential "Mothlight" on 16mm) and Loznitsa's A Gentle Creature are at BAMPFA, Kubo and the Two Strings, The Last Detail, and The Witches of Eastwick (all repeating Sunday) at the 4 Star, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is at the New Parkway, Watership Down (repeats Sunday) at the Lark, The Four Feathers (1929) at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum, and the Stanford's weekend Capra double feature is State of the Union and Meet John Doe (both on 35mm, repeating Sunday).

Sunday, No Other Land opens and RoxCine presents Lucrecia Martel's The Headless Woman at the Roxie, the Smith Rafael screens Skin of Glass with filmmaker Denise Zmekhol in person, BAMPFA continues their Marcello Mastroianni's centenary with the Sophia Loren co-starring A Special Day, their G. W. Pabst series with his innovative first sound film, Westfront 1918, and environmental doc Plastic People, Sunset Blvd. is at the Balba, the Niles has its regular Laurel & hardy/Our Gang talkie matinee, and the Grand Lake has another Lynch double of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and Lost Highway.
